Product Inflection

How Product Inflection works

The opportunity lifecycle.

Product Inflection connects business strategy, stakeholder needs, and market signals to prioritized, traceable product work—then helps teams monitor delivery and retire low-value requests.

Stage 01 · Strategic alignment

Start with business objectives

Product leadership establishes the strategic structure before the team documents and evaluates potential work.
LeadershipStrategic themesDefine the organization’s areas of focus
LeadershipObjectivesDescribe the outcomes the organization seeks
Leadership + product teamKey resultsMake success specific and measurable
Product teamGenerate a PRDCarry the Key Result’s information into planned work

Business Objectives

Create the strategic hierarchy

In Business Objectives, product leadership creates Strategic Themes and Objectives. Leadership then works with the product team to define the Key Results that will show whether each objective is being achieved.

Key Result → PRD

Generate strategically linked work

From a Key Result, a product team member can select the action to generate a PRD. Product Inflection carries the Key Result’s information into the new PRD, creating a direct link between strategy and the work being considered for delivery.

Opportunities and PRDs

Align documents to portfolio strategy

When creating or editing an Opportunity Document or PRD, users are asked to connect it to relevant Strategic Themes, Objectives, and Key Results whenever possible.

This makes stakeholder requests visible as evidence supporting portfolio strategy and helps teams trace proposed work back to the outcomes it advances.

Stage 02 · Opportunity creation

Capture ideas from every direction

Opportunities enter Product Inflection through stakeholders, the AI Advisory Team, and product team members.

Path 1 · Ideas Collection

Stakeholders create and rank opportunities

Teams such as Support, Revenue, Customer Success, Services, and Infrastructure create Opportunity Documents in Ideas Collection.

On Stakeholder Ranking, each team prioritizes its top 10. Those team rankings are included throughout opportunity analysis so stakeholder demand remains visible during decision-making.

Path 2 · Advisory Team

AI agents identify opportunities

The Advisory Team—AI agents orchestrated by Sense—continuously evaluates customer, competitor, support, market, and other incoming signals.

When it identifies an opportunity, it creates an Opportunity Document. AI-generated documents use a light purple background in Ideas Collection and are also identified by text, so their origin is clear without relying on color alone.

Path 3 · Product team

Product leaders and team members author PRDs

Product leaders and team members may create PRDs directly. The PRD is Product Inflection’s source-of-truth object for product work, including roadmap items and delivery artifacts.

Sense can assist during creation, editing, and review. It helps strengthen the writing and surfaces competitive, customer, and market considerations the author may not have included.

Stage 03 · Choosing what to build

Analyze opportunities in context

Sense combines organizational data, Advisory Team findings, and stakeholder priorities to help teams compare options.

Recommendations

See what to prioritize—and why

Recommendations presents Sense’s analysis of which work should be prioritized, along with the reasoning behind each recommendation.

Opportunity Analysis

Compare with established frameworks

Filter any set of opportunities and analyze them using RICE, Kano, and ICE. The AI recommendation rating remains visible in each analysis.

Generate downloadable slides from the current filters, including charts and item descriptions, for strategy conversations with stakeholders.

Stakeholder Ranking

Keep team priorities visible

Review the top 10 opportunities ranked by each Sales, Support, Services, and other stakeholder team.

Stage 04 · Once you know what to build

Commit through the PRD

The PRD carries the original opportunity context forward and becomes the durable source of truth.

ConvertProduct Requirements DocumentOriginal data retained and ready to improve with Sense

Original archived automaticallyRemoved from active views to prevent duplication and cognitive noise.

Design principle

Convert; do not copy. Product context moves forward once, reducing duplicate work and keeping teams aligned around one authoritative record.

Stage 05 · Generate and manage work

Turn the PRD into connected execution

Teams generate delivery and go-to-market work from the same approved product context.

02RoadmapAdd the PRD and see linked Jira status
03Roadmap slidesPresent plans and the strategy behind them

Connected delivery

Create Jira work without re-entering context

Convert the PRD into a Jira ticket and Product Inflection writes the PRD content into the new ticket. After the PRD is added to the roadmap, the linked Jira ticket’s current status appears when the roadmap loads.

Presentation-ready roadmaps

Generate roadmap slides for stakeholders

From the Roadmap page, generate presentation-ready, three-column slides in either Quarterly or Now–Next–Later format.

QuarterlyNow–Next–LaterOptional RICE, Kano, and ICE charts

Include the optional analysis charts when you need to explain the prioritization strategy behind the roadmap.

Reusable context

Generate downstream artifacts from the PRD

Create materials for developers, go-to-market teams, interactive prototyping, and vibe coding. Each artifact draws from the PRD automatically, reducing platform switching and copy-and-paste work.

Stage 06 · Tracking and portfolio hygiene

Monitor delivery and remove stale work

Product Inflection helps leaders see delivery risk while preventing low-value requests from accumulating indefinitely.

Decision Center

Start with what needs attention

At login, the Decision Center alerts product leaders to the work, risks, and decisions they need to watch or manage.

PRDs and Roadmap

Escalate delivery risks

The PRD and Roadmap pages surface risk factors that could cause missed delivery. These risks are visible to the Advisory Team and inform status reports.

The Roadmap’s Commitment Report shows when committed items move into future quarters and how many times each item has moved. Linked Jira statuses show the current engineering stage.

Executive Review

Archive low-value opportunities

On the Executive Review page, select Review opportunities to archive to see the lowest-value opportunities and an explanation of why each may no longer merit attention.

Archive items individually or use the AI-generated Archive all action for the proposed list. This keeps the portfolio focused and prevents hundreds of stale or low-value requests from becoming cognitive overhead.
